Yates Acticote combines a lot of clever science in one, easy-to-use fertiliser, giving your roses (and other flowering outdoor beauties), both an instant boost, as well as controlled, slow-release fertiliser over time, to keep them bloomin' happy and healthy for up to 12 months. This is for one 500 gram tub. Directions for use below.
Which plants is it for?
Formulated for all roses and other flowering favourites.
What does Yates Acticote do for roses?
This all-rounder simplifies feeding, using fertiliser technology that combines both an instant boost and long-term, gradual, even release of nutrition to meet your roses needs all year-round.
Acticote supports healthy leaf growth, strong root development and increases flowering production and bloom longevity. Reduces mineral deficiencies and increases disease resistance.
Proper nutrition before flowering supports more blooms, and longer flowering. However if you don't start feeding until after buds appear, combine Acticote with Liquid Potash for an initial flower boost.
How does Yates Acticote work?
Acticote is a unique two-in-one fertiliser, both instant and slow-release to quickly address deficiencies while going on to support health long-term. The unique coating technology around the granules gets to work right away, then slowly releases evenly and gradually over time. In typical NZ garden conditions it continues to feed your roses for up to 12 months (depending on rainfall / watering and temperature).
How do you apply Yates Acticote?
Gentle enough to apply any time of year, however for the most benefit for your roses apply from early Spring to late Summer.
Garden planted roses: Measure out 50 grams (about 5 level tablespoons) per square metre around the root zone. Gently rake in to the top layer of soil. Water in well straight after application to start the feeding process.
Potted roses: Apply around the outer edge of the pot. For pots 20cms wide, measure 10 grams or 1 level tablespoon. For pots 40cms wide, measure 20 grams or 2 level tablespoons. Gently rake in to the top layer of soil. Water in well straight after application to start the feeding process.
When planting roses: Do not apply when planting dormant roses in winter. Wait until spring when new shoots appear before feeding, as above.
Store un-used product in supplied container, in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from excess heat or moisture. Apply on a day when the temperature is not expected to exceed 30 degrees. If soil is very dry, or plant is showing signs of moisture stress, water and wait to apply the following day instead.
