Yates Acticote + Instant Booster Fertiliser - Fruit, Citrus, Trees, Shrubs - 500g
Yates Acticote combines a lot of clever science in one, easy-to-use fertiliser, giving your trees and shrubs both an instant boost, as well as controlled, slow-release fertiliser over time, to keep everyone happy and healthy for up to 12 months. This is for one 500 gram tub. Directions for use below.
Which plants is it for?
Formulated for all outdoor trees and shrubs, including fruit, citrus, azaleas, camellias, and rhododendrons. A favourite for lemons and feijoa.
What does Yates Acticote do for fruit and citrus?
This all-rounder simplifies feeding, supports healthy leaf growth, strong root development and increases flowering and fruit production. Reduces leaf yellowing and leaf drop caused by mineral deficiencies, including magnesium, sulfur and iron deficiencies common in fruit and citrus trees. A lemon lovers go-to in particular. Added calcium helps prevent blossom end rot, common in lemons and apples (where flowers bloom but die without fruiting, or the fruit rots at the blossom end).
Proper nutrition before flowering and fruiting supports more blooms, and more fruit. However if you don't start feeding until after blooms or fruit appear, combine Acticote with Liquid Potash for a flower and fruit boost.
How does Yates Acticote work?
Acticote is a unique two-in-one fertiliser, both instant and slow-release to quickly address deficiencies while going on to support health long-term. The unique coating technology around the granules gets to work right away, then slowly releases evenly and gradually over time. In typical NZ garden conditions it continues to feed your trees and shrubs for up to 12 months (depending on rainfall / watering and temperature).
How do you apply Yates Acticote?
Gentle enough to apply any time of year, however for the most benefit for trees and shrubs, apply from Spring to late Summer, or in to Autumn in warmer zones, when actively growing.
Measure out 50 grams (about 5 level tablespoons) per square metre around the root zone. Leave a 30cm zone free around the trunk and apply outside that zone. Gently rake in to the top layer of soil. Water in well straight after application to start the feeding process.
Store un-used product in supplied container, in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and away from excess heat or moisture. Apply on a day when the temperature is not expected to exceed 30 degrees. If soil is very dry, or plant is showing signs of moisture stress, water and wait to apply the following day instead.
What's in Yates Acticote Fruit and Citrus?
11 essential minerals, including calcium. Rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and more to meet the higher demands of even the heavy feeders like lemons and feijoa trees.
The safety data sheet can be downloaded from the Yates NZ website.
