It's all very well to say we're meant to get our climbers climbing as young as possible if we want bigger leaves and faster growth - but what are you meant to do when they're still small?
You can't force a fat moss pole in a small pot without everything tipping over, and even those awesome Grow Vertical poles need around a 14cm+ size pot for stability. Plus, let's be honest, some plants just need a more aesthetic solution, and a chunky pole ain't it. Most poles also need to dug down into the pot for support, best done when repotting. But what if you simply want an immediate solution to support your vining and climbing plants when small?
Botanopia to the rescue...
Practical and beautiful. The Botanopia Plant Support Stakes are the perfect solution for all your smaller plants that need a little support, whether they want to climb or vine. These stakes slide in so easily there's no need to repot. They are made of recycled aluminium, so are super light and won't cause pots to tips over. They won't rust either like metal stakes do. These are the genuine Botanopia plant stakes, made in Poland.
3 designs, 2 colours
These come in 3 designs, Hoop, Bump or Pompom (love those names). Every design is available in either go-with-everything Black or gorgeous soft Gold. I love the Black combined with black nursery pots, dark cover pots like black, charcoal, concrete, blues and greens, and it shows off green foliage beautifully too. I do love the black/white combo too for a monochrome look. The gold looks extra special with clear pots, with white, pink and paler-coloured cover pots, and with variegated white and pink foliage.
What plants do well on stakes?
I love these for keeping Hoya vines tidy, for winding Chain of Hearts around, for baby Pothos, Epipremnum and Philodendron, for wayward Syngonium heading off in all directions... the list goes on!
They are great with a little Plant Velcro too for securing them anywhere plants don't naturally stay put (most vining plants you can easily wind around the stake and they keep themselves in place with no ties needed, but some like Syngonium do benefit from a plant tie).
Measurements
This is for the Black Pompom, which measures 34cms tall and 6cms across, with a 3.5cm width for the pompom on top. The first photo with one of my Monstera Standleyana variegated babies in a clear pot, shows the Black Pompom combined with an 11cm clear TEKU pot.
