The Kiwi brand of orchid bark is famous worldwide. Made from raw (un-aged) bark from sustainably grown Pinus Radiata. A super hard bark that won't quickly break down and decompose. Lasting 3+ years! That means less frequent repotting for less damage to delicate roots. Little to no pH fluctuation maintains a healthier soil pH for longer. The quality of Kiwi Orchid Bark also makes it safe for use for animals, such as reptiles. This is for grade 2 in the 2 litre bag.
Which grade should I get?
I stock grades 2, 3 and 4, the most popular sizes in the Kiwi range:
GRADE 2 is 3mm to 9mm in size and popular for deflasking, seedlings and younger plants with less established root systems or for delicate roots. This is also the grade used in Bio Leaf's best selling Aroid and Hoya Medium/Chunky Blend. Suitable for orchids in 2" to 3" pots (around 5cms to 8cms pots).
THIS GRADE > GRADE 3 is popular for a wide range of orchids including phalaenopsis, cymbidiums, cattleyas and vandas. Ranging from 8mm to 20mm in size. This is the size used in the Bio Leaf Variegated Blend, and Bio Leaf Orchid Coarse Mix, and the best selling grade in the Kiwi Bark range worldwide.
GRADE 4 measures 20 to 25mm and ideal for larger pots measuring 15cms+ as well as large cattleyas and cymbidiums. A lovely chunky grade for increasing aeration in potting mix and for grow poles. Also popular to add to the top of pots.
