"These are absolutely amazing I have cuttings in mine that I thought were gone but upon putting pretty much dead cuttings in here I am amazed they are living and growing. Couldn’t ask for better." Amber Chapman

Get the propagation party started right with these neat Mini Propagation Kits. Each kit includes a clear mini pot with drainage holes, clear mini saucer, and to keep the warmth in and humidity up for successful propagation all year round, the clear humidity dome with adjustable airflow vent built in to the top is included too.
Please note our supplier sometimes surprises us and sends us semi-see-through saucers instead of fully clear saucers. The domes and pots are always fully clear :)
Available in a set of 2 or of 8
As you can tell by the price from as little as $2 per kit, these aren't blow-your-socks off high-end quality by any means, but they aren't single use throw-aways either. Made of thin, flexible plastic, so not as sturdy or thick as the Rain or Teku clear pots, but they are definitely reusable and the adjustable humidity dome and saucer are included.
What size are they?
Put together, the entire kit measures 15cms tall. The mini pot by itself is 8.5cms wide across the top, 7.5cms tall and a smidge under 6cm wide across the bottom for good stability.
The pot has 8 decent sized drainage holes and the bottom of the pot is designed to line up with the saucer so it sits securely in the saucer. The mini saucer measures 7cms square and just under 0.5cm high.
The humidity dome is made of thinner plastic than the pot and saucer to let maximum light through, measures just under 9cm tall and 9cm wide, and clips neatly over the edge of the mini pot. Tall enough to give you plenty of room to get those seedlings and cuttings off to a great start. Once potted up, it's best to lift these from the pot, not the dome, as the dome likely wouldn't stay clipped on once the weight of substrate is added to the pot.
Everything is crystal clear, much clearer than the thicker Teku and Rain clear pots. So easy to keep an eye on root health once your seed or cuttings roots, and easy peasy to judge moisture level too.
What comes included?
Each kit includes the clear humidity dome with adjustable air vent, clear pot and clear saucer. So the set of 2 is 2 of each, and set of 8 is 8 of each. Plants or other accessories shown in some photos not included but lots of substrates > available separately.
What substrates are best?
Up to you really! My go-to varies depending on what I'm growing. Have fun and experiment with them. Here's some of my favourite substrate and plant pairings...
I tend to use spag moss for most of my Philodendron, Pothos, Epipremnum and Syngonium cuttings and babies.
For Hoyas my first pick is normally Fern Fibre, but I'm getting great results with Lechuza Pon also.
For propagating plants that dislike drying out, my new favourite is Bio Leaf Starter Mix. Amazing results for African Violets, Begonia and more.
Other popular propagation substrates include perlite, and for seeds and seedlings vermiculite is very popular. For the best of both worlds there's also hydromix.
What increases the chance of successful propagation?
There are SO many products available to help, but my 'secret' combo are a dip in GT Clonex protective rooting gel, followed by a little GT Clonex Clone Solution root fertiliser mixed in every time I water the substrate. That magic combo seals cuttings to keep rot away, increases how fast a cutting starts to root, then grows stronger roots faster, ready to pot up sooner.
