Why Bio Leaf?
I really hated repotting. Until now. This mix is an absolute joy to work with. Nice and chunky. Much less mess. Easier clean-up. Also seriously good for my plants. It's amazing what the difference a good foundation like Bio Leaf makes to your plant's health. Lucky things. I love it. My plants love it. Win win!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "The best chunky potting mix. I love this blend, super fun to mix and use, and so chunky which my aroids love so much, Would recommend forever." Tara Mannix
Which plants is this mix for?
Formulated for aroids and hoyas but suitable for all indoor plants that share the same substrate preferences, including hoyas, monstera, philodendron, pothos, epipremnum, scindapsus... the list goes on! If your plant likes an airy, chunky, free-draining mix, and prefers lightly moist, not wet or waterlogged conditions, this mix is an ideal match. Also superb if you're worried about over-watering and want to reduce the risk of root rot as it maintains plenty of air even when freshly watered.
Sizes available
2 litres, 5 litres or 10 litres
Why is Bio Leaf different?
Our houseplants may not be in their natural habitat - where they'd get all the organic extras that plants benefit from outdoors - but by giving them Bio Leaf, it brings indoor plants closer to nature so they don't have to miss out.
Bio Leaf is more than just a done-for-you, pre-mixed blend of the ingredients you can see. It's also about what you can't see. At least not until you've switched your plants to Bio Leaf. Then you'll see first-hand how a potting mix can get raving 5 star reviews.
What's in the bag?
A medium to chunky-grade mix of Orchid Bark, Fern Fibre, Pumice, Crushed Horticulture Charcoal PLUS the Bioactive Blend unique to Bio Leaf...
What's in the Bioactive Blend?
⭐SOIL SUPERHEROES
Organic compounds fulvic acids and humic acids that help with nutrient transfer from the substrate to the roots, and help reduce the risk of root rot, naturally boosting growth and improving plant health.
⭐STRESS PROTECTORS
A custom blend of 3 calcium sources + silica (known as Nature's Bodyguard), to boost plant stress tolerance and help recovery after repotting.
⭐PLANT AMINO ACIDS
Organic plant proteins that help plants produce chlorophyll, boosting photosynthesis, plant growth and soil health. Helps plants grow bigger, stronger and more dense. Supports better use of nutrients from the soil, improving soil fertility and reducing build-up of unused fertiliser salts, reducing the risk of fertiliser burn.
⭐OCEAN MINERALS
A blend of marine extracts, naturally rich in plant growth hormones that boost growth in general but in particular supports new root growth. Helps resistance to stress, especially transplant stress following repotting.
⭐pH BUFFERED
Provides the slightly acidic pH houseplants prefer. Helps maintain the ideal 'Goldilocks Zone' where nutrients are most available for plants to uptake. Helps naturally protect against harmful pH swings caused by fertiliser salts, natural decay and decomposition over time, extending the life of the potting mix.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Love, love, love this mix. Great drainage and lots of great stuff for my plants to thrive. I won't go back to normal soil potting mix for my aroids." Memory Taylor
The big ingredients:
Orchid bark
Bio Leaf uses premium, export-quality grade orchid bark. Clean and sterile. A harder, slow-to-decompose grade that lasts years. Increases soil aeration, resists compacting and adds drainage while holding water for slow-release.
Pumice
Natural, volcanic rock. Keeps its shape even when waterlogged. Keeps soil loose. Adds aeration and improves drainage. Keeps water moving. Naturally porous. Holds water roughly twice as long as bark for slow and steady release. Compared to perlite which costs less, although pumice costs more, it is also the superior choice for plants, offering better drainage and higher compact-resistance, as well as being more eco-friendly.
Fern fibre
Superb results for aroids, hoya, orchids, ferns and other epiphytes. Natural, soft, airy, fibrous and long lasting. Contains a lot of air but also holds water longer than many other free-draining substrates. Distributes moisture more evenly throughout the root zone. Sustainably harvested.
Horticultural charcoal
The over-waterers and worried-plant-parent's best friend! Helps increase aeration and adds drainage. Natural porosity holds on to necessary nutrients for roots to access. Creates a more favourable environment for good bacteria and beneficial microbes. Helps balance soil pH.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Perfect blend. Definitely will continue to purchase these wonderful potting mixes. Noticed the difference in root growth and new leaf growth. Combined with the correct feeding and watering you can't go wrong." Lynne Smith
