Directions for Dyna-Gro KLN
Directions and dose depend on use. The recommended dilution rate varies from 2ml per 750mls water, to 1ml per 1.5 litres of water, the same as all Dyna-Gro products.
For propagating in water: Place cuttings in KLN solution at a dilution rate of 1ml to 3mls KLN per 1 litre of water. Choose the stronger dose for harder to root cuttings , otherwise stick with 1mls to 2mls KLN per 1 litre water. Cuttings should callous within 7 to 10 days and roots start to appear soon after. Changing the water at least weekly is recommended, with a fresh solution of KLN each time at the same dilution rate.
For propagating in solid substrates (such as rockwool, sand, vermiculite, fern fibre etc): Soak fresh cutting in a stronger KLN solution, diluted at 4mls per 1 litre water, for 10 to 15 minutes. Then transfer to growing medium saturated with KLN solution diluted at 1 to 2mls KLN per 1 litre water. Water as needed using fresh KLN solution each time at 1ml to 2mls KLN per 1 litre water (you can go up to 4mls per 1 litre for harder-to-root cuttings).
For newly potted or transplanted plants: Top-water with KLN solution after repotting or changing substrate, diluted at 1ml to 2mls KLN per 1 litre of water, until substrate is fully saturated. Water with KLN solution every time you water until the plant is well established in the new medium.
Long-term root growth: KLN can be used long-term, monthly, throughout the foliage growing season to boost root health and promote new root growth. Dilute 1ml KLN per 1.5 litres water. For best results, mix-feed with 1ml ProTeKt and 1ml of your choice of Dyna-Gro fertiliser per 1.5 litres water. Do not use KLN when a plant is dormant, or when you want a plant to focus on flower production.
